A report by the recent beta app leak says that WhatsApp is working on bringing live location sharing to the app. This might ease the process of finding people on the go. In addition to that, it’s also planning to introduce a new and improved WhatsApp Status feature in its upcoming versions.

NEW LOCATION SHARING FEATURE

More importantly, WABetainfo (which tracks changes to the WhatsApp beta apps) has shared few screenshots of the location-sharing feature.

As can be seen in the above image, the option helps you share your location with friends in a group chat. This feature is now available on WhatsApp beta version 2.16.399 for Android and 2.17.3.28 for iPhone.

Further, it also shows a new ‘Show My Friends’ option in the version. Using this feature, you can make your live location accessible to an audience of your choice. Moreover, you can make it available for few minutes or indefinitely as per your choice.

OTHER UPDATES

Besides the location sharing feature, the tipster claims that WhatsApp is also working on a new feature. Accordingly, the app notifies users when one of their contacts changes their status message.
