Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Runners up of IPL 2016 will want to go one step further this time and win the trophy which has eluded them 3 times now. In pursuit of this, RCB, as they are fondly called by their fans, has released 10 players from their squad. The core players are still part of the franchise. Apparently, this team can go on to win the IPL without picking up any new player at the upcoming IPL Auction 2017 thus talking volumes about the bench strength of this squad.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s home ground is the M.Chinnaswamy stadium.
This ground has hosted the finals of IPL for the last 2 years now. With new advanced drainage system upgraded at this venue, chances of matches getting washed out at this venue will be a rarity. This ground is completely powered by solar energy which is another feather in its cap. In fact, this is the first stadium in the world of its kind.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE IPL AUCTION 2017
With Captain Virat Kohli showing a lot of interest in the English player Ben Stokes, it should not be a surprise if RCB go into the auction and just pick Ben Stokes and go home. However, this would happen provided he gives a nod to play the entire tournament. With a settled and some impressive in-form domestic batsmen in their squad, RCB is, of course, the favourites to win the IPL 2017.
Furthermore, with the advantage of having immense options to choose from, some players at the RCB camp might feel unlucky to miss out in the playing eleven.
Also, RCB might have some selection headaches to make with respect to picking up 4 foreign players in the playing eleven. If RCB looks to strengthen their bowling by picking up two International foreign bowlers, then one of their foreign batsman or an all-rounder will miss out on a chance to make it to the playing eleven.
Overall when RCB look to rotate their players in a tournament as long as the IPL, their squad looks brilliant. Nevertheless, RCB might look for a technically sound Domestic wicket-Keeper at the IPL auction 2017.
WHAT UWEWORLD THINKS ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE WILL DO AT THE IPL AUCTION 2017
With an available purse of just around 12.8 crores (the second least compared to other franchises), RCB will go all out for their last foreign player. In spite of a small purse, RCB might opt for a very good domestic wicket-keeper batsman if there is any money left. Additionally, RCB might also be interested in a domestic off-spinner.
THE TARGET FOR RCB IN THE IPL AUCTION 2017
- One impact player who is an all-rounder to finish the innings.
- A regular domestic wicket-keeper.
- A good domestic fast bowler.
- A foreign fast bowler as a back-up for Mitchell Starc during his absence due to injury or national duty.
Also, do not be surprised if RCB trade one of their foreign players for a premium International/Domestic fast bowler in the 2nd trading window after the auction.
